It's probably not food safe so that's another reason to make sure the condensate runs away from the boiler.
The other problem is that mounting it in the side wall will reduce the capacity of the boiler. Mine is a 65 litre boil pot that will now only hold about 55 litres.
BTW, I think I have told this tale before but many years ago I did a Dave Line barley wine which said something like "sparge to collect 3.5 gallons then boil until reduced to 2 gallons". I did it in my Mum's kitchen without any form of extraction and also without any form of intelligent thought. It turns out that the gallon and a half of water has to go somewhere and I ended up with water dripping off and/or running down everything, including the light fittings. It's a good job Mums are very understanding...
