Apologies well in advance...
I guess that's the price you pay for being a pioneer Andy?Andy wrote:Unless Norm fits new seals these days ?

Mind you, looking at old posts Norm's prices have gone up quite a bit in the last year. Don't get me wrong, I still think I've got a bargin. He seems really switched on to the homebrewer market now.
He's a top bloke, it's like a home brewery alladins cave at his gaff, it's got me wanting a beer engine!Chiltern Brewer wrote:I guess that's the price you pay for being a pioneer Andy?Andy wrote:Unless Norm fits new seals these days ?![]()

Check out the beers we have for sale @ Mix Brewery
I must admit that I dived into the CO2 cylinder thing without much research.
EB's absolutely right, you can't post filled compressed gas cylinders of any kind, so Norm sends
them out empty, albeit brand spanking new.
I've a couple of hardware stores local to me who seem to have fingers in pies, but if all goes
pear-shaped then I'll jump on the rental bandwagon.
But anyway, the corny is the main purchase and I'm pleased as punch!
However, I think I'll stick with just the one... I can't possibly see myself needing more. Why,
that would just be greedy....... Mwah ha ha.

You could always get it filled at one of the places Wez found - admittedly it would be a bit of a drive down to Brum area but might be worth it. My cylinder it still at a healthy pressure but I might end up having to drive down to get Norm's cylinder filled at some point when it runs out. Let me know if you find anywhere localish that will fill it though as I'm not that far from younotassuch wrote:I've a couple of hardware stores local to me who seem to have fingers in pies, but if all goes pear-shaped then I'll jump on the rental bandwagon

I too have joined the "corny club" as my kegs where delivered this afternoon.
I haven't given them that close an inspection but the seals look good and they definately need a good soak/clean inside.
They all have a 4 digit number - 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970 - is this a serial number or the year of manufacture? Seems odd to get a sequence like that...

I got mine delivered this afternoon too, from Beertech (great service). I used to think people saying how pleased they were with their keg taps was a bit of an odd thing to get excited about, but I got a quick disconnect tap with my keg and suddenly the scales have fallen from my eyes
its a thing of beauty.
I see some on here have 7+ kegs
