This morning, I had a card from the PO, saying that if I pay £22.00 import duty, they'll deliver the kegs on monday :o

Hurray! Good news (kind of).

So, jm, did it work out cheaper in the end?

how many kegs did you get? that sounds not a bad price to be honest for a customs charge, although there may be a post office handling fee as well, but they should have included that in the amount quoted, in which case you're laughing. :D

Three reconditioned cornys, two taps. £92 from Brewers Dicount £14vat £8 handling fee. Total £114. The kegs are supposed to have had all new O rings, so not a bad price. I should receive them on monday and I'll let you know what they're like. They were ordered on the 26th March!!!

Well Parcel Force turned up with the three kegs and two taps as promised.

Total cost £114.

The kegs are supposed to have all new parts. They have new safety valve and lid o-rings, but the post o-rings and poppets have not been replaced. BD clearly state, all new o-rings and poppets. Two of the kegs have new out dip tubes however.

Brewers Discount are not answering the phone. They are totally uncontactable. It could have turned out worse, but I don't think I'll order from BD again.

Two of the kegs were under pressure when they arrived, which is impressive after three months in the post. The other one also appears to hold pressure. It could be worse, a week ago, I'd given up all hope.

Just sent an order for poppets to Moorbeer - I hope they are slightly less useless than BD.

Latest in this saga:

I emailed my card provider to explain the problem i.e., that they hadn't been delivered and BD were not contactable by any means. I've just had a letter from Morgan Stanley MasterCard to say that they've charged the transaction back to the merchant and credited me. They say the merchant has 45 days to return the transaction and if that happens, Master Card will allow it to go through. Seems a pointless exercise then?

All I hope is that BD will get in contact, but they haven't yet.

I did receive them, but after I wrote to the credit card company. The kegs did not have all new parts, as promised, so I want to talk to BD.
