trappist monks made a ton of crap beer and they never brewed much/any in the summer either, quality only jumped forwards when temperature measurement was introduced a couple of hundred years ago...... plus they only tended to make the same ale tuned by luck over decades to suited to their situation

I have 2 projects similar to this but currently hibernating !

1. Arduino Yun instead of BrewPi, for temperature control, logging and web server all in the one box controlling a shelf cooler recirc with an inline passed heat element using a product coil and a 50cm thermowell.

2. for logging only on a small battery ! cheaper
LightBlue Bean as the arduino and bluetooth with limited logging, accessible using your iPhone or Android with BT LE
It connects to a DS18B20 thermowell and also gives ambient via temp from accel.
It could even bob in your wort and angle picked up from the accelerometer could give you gravity as well !

was just messing mate haha. It mental how much I've learned from here about the science of beer! Crazy how much is involved
