Your best investments?
Re: Your best investments?
a stir plate, doesn't save any time, in fact it makes work compared to opening a pack of dry yeast, but since i started growing up a proper pitch of yeast there's been a step change in the results.

I love the disapproving looks from management at work when I get the ColePalmer catalogue out. Pricey.Pinto wrote:[quote="Jocky"Also a paint stirrer for my drill, which I use as an aeration device. Wish I could get one in stainless steel.

My best bargain is in there though. Adams Scales £480 in Colepalmer, picked one up second hand on eBay £65. Highly recommend scouting the Business, Office & Industrial section of eBay for bust companies selling off gear.

Re: Your best investments?
My beer improved the most when I got two fridges with heat and cooling control
I can fit up to 60 litre vessel for fermenting and cooling and beer now crystal clear in about 10 days from start.

Re: Your best investments?
A boring one from me. My 60 litre plastic bucket I bought from Hop & Grape for £17.99 in 2008 - that did its 75th AG boil last Saturday.
I brew therefore I ... I .... forget

+1 for the Hop & Grape Bucket I've got one of those as my 1st all grain boiler (well actually it's my 2nd one as I messed up drilling the holes in the 1st one
) and it's still going strong but been replaced with a shiny boiler
