The six I got 2 very good light scratches and stickers, four others bit worse, they will polish up if you want to spend time or money, no complaints here, bargain for what you get, must cost a fortune new.

See my recent posts on the ones I got and have started to polish

I was pleased with mine, not seen yours so unfair to say you not justified in being upset

I was looking at these the other night after yet another crap pressure barrel let me down. I'd point out that at the moment too, the price differential between the .uk and .ie prices actually favour buying from the UK site once the free postage on orders over £75 is taken into account.

They'd have been a lot cheaper to return to a mainland UK supplier..... :)

I'd also repeat what others have said - they're used (and it was never going to be gently used given what they are) - as long as they hold pressure and can stand up straight on their own base, they're a damn good buy - 19L stainless vessel for £9 less than a crappy PB from the LHBS ? I'll be in as soon as I have some spare cash !

I think it's a bit of luck which kegs get sent to who at the time, so yeh I brought a few, over 3 different times, I paid different prices, which was frustrating at the time.

In the 12 kegs I got only one was sparkly almost new, the rest were scratced as they would be,, almost all had dents in the bottom, being that they have been used and abused in there life time. A few have dates on them that I can see "1974" a few had slightly bent posts, I would have had to put up with fiddling trying to put the disconect on at some angle other than the normal. So I got a tall tight fitting socket on it and slowly bent it back. My thought was if I knacked IT I would send it back quick.
But after a full strip down of each one and new seals, I noticed one where the bottom rubber had 1/2 came away from the base. I email them, first on the shop email, and then a week later on Shane's email to which he said It just needs to be glued back on which I could do or I could sent it back, so I replied I think it needs to be vulcanised but as it was faulty I wish to sent it back.

The reply was he would arrange for a courrier to pick it up. And I got refunded for the price I paid for one keg. So I was happy as I did not want to pay to send it back when it was sent faulty, and it got a full free clean from me.
So all in all I am happy, but I think the price then the drop and then the rise was a bit silly, but I guess that's supply and demand and buseness for you
But I think it would have been better if they had been graded, very good cond, average cond, poor cond.

But if you need some seals PM me I have a few

I also bought 3 a few weeks ago after seeing an offer on here and though they look like they have been aroiund the world and full of scuffs and dents, as long as they hold pressure ( I haven't checked yet) I will be happy as they are not to look at but to fill up and empty

As pinto says the euro has changed again so say for instance you buy a kilo of Minch you pay about 4p more on the ie than the UK site

I got 2 of these a while ago.

They were in OK condition apart from a few stickers on the outside.

Both hold pressure well.

Did need a new o ring to get rid of the lemonade smell on one of them.

As other have said, they are cheaper than crappy plastic PB's, so I still think they are absolute bargains.

Not sure why you would feel the need to polish with a power tool? Mine sit inside a "kegarator" so they are out of sight anyway.

i've ordered 6 from them in the past. Yes they are scuffed and have stickers on them but they all hold pressure and do the job. Bargain!

Here's 2nd one I polished no great effort for me to do as I have the kit for doing it, took about an hour maybe two for the really bad ones to do and will be easy to wipe clean in future

Image

As you can see they are quite grubby to start with but purely cosmetic, think the fact its clean and shiney means it gets a better reception from the misses and if i ever wanted to sell them i would have no problem finding a buyer

I don't want to put anyone off trying the beer or thinking that the inside looks as bad as the outside

If the appearance bothers you see if you can find a local metal polisher and get a price on polishing yours

This is what I used to restore mine

Bought 3 a few months back when they were €95 for 3 and just took delivery of another 3 yesterday. One of the first 3 has the top rubber coming away but nothing structural, all hold pressure after a thorough clean and complete change of o-rings which I would have thought would be par for the course when buying used kegs?

Was happy enough to order another the second lot of 3. Not bothered by the outside condition - as has been mentioned, you're getting 3 used kegs for the price of one new one and last I checked my Kegerator door was opaque.

I don't really understand the complaints.....if you've ever tried to buy a replacement corny lid with a PRV you will understand my comment.

Love the mirror finish on those fastline, my dad's got a buffing machine, I might have a play with.

Is there any particular chemical you use with the machine to polish the kegs?

I use a DA sander starting with a course 100grit pad to work away at the worst scratches and then 240 Grit pad then 500 Grit and the a final polish on the buffer using a white compound or soap as we call em. Its the soap on the wheel that does the polishing the wheel just carries it.

There a nice shape and size so quiet easy to polish, just a very messy boring job but very satisfying when comparing against an unfinished one
