There are plenty of people in OZ using these with good results. They also have a stainless steel head option, if you are into "bling". They end up much cheaper than a March or Chugger with similar specs, but I,m not sure how much shipping would be to the other side of the world.
Cheers,
Wally

Go word back:
"Unfortunately there is not a metallic option for the MMP range.
Our EMC Range includes a Ryton pump, that can handle 120°C for wort circulation."
Damn. Back to the drawing board...
Thanks anyway Fil.

My error corrected at least I thought that there were alternative SS pump heads available, floydmeddler wrote:Go word back:

Re: 100c High Powered Pump
Not that it helps much but FWIW: A stainless option may be more resistant to cross-threading or being dropped, but plastic in itself isn't necessarily a problem with a little care. At least, the polysulpfone head on my march 815 has proved utterly fine, and I understand is more resistant than stainless to some chemicals and disinfectants.
In the case of the mmp its the type of plastics and perhaps bearing materials used that are the problem, in that they aren't suitable for 100c. I hear people have tried and found that they do begin to bind and struggle if the temperature is exceeded.
Though much is dependent on design; the tiny solar-project/little-brown pumps are (theoretically) rated to over 100c but are more physically fragile for instance. But they wouldn't be suitable for you in any case.

I use one of THESE from Mr Lard. 12 v but you get decent pumping action and I need to throttle it back as the flow is too strong for the chiller. While not a SS head they work fine with 100c liquid.

Have tried the non metalic headed version of these. Got clogged up in minutes. I use pellet hops without a hop bag so need something a bit more heavy duty.bobsbeer wrote:I use one of THESE from Mr Lard. 12 v but you get decent pumping action and I need to throttle it back as the flow is too strong for the chiller. Great pumps though. Currently using it as my HLT pump.

F*ck it. I've bitten the bullet and bought me a Chugger from Mr Lard.
