I think another member mentioned that a type "g" was easily do able for "home" dismantling BUT never posted the results of the experiments so its still an unknown. Ive a few other couplers in my spares box but never tried them with a different style of coupler.

The "S" type is a tried and test method though, so best of British if your trial another type + please post the results.

I'll be honest that Justin got back to my first contact quickly but the two emails since (including my order) have gone unanswered. Not great.

Suppose I will have to ring them today.

EDIT: Apparently he has been abroad and is now sorting my kegs.

Can someone give me a guide reply to this with the following

Price of the 20ltr ones,

what extra equipement is requires i.e. Sankey coupler, tap, line, gas etc.

What is the process for filling the keg (saw a confusing load of messages about needing a special tool to remove the key?

The kegs were £65 each + postage (£25 :( ), coupler say £15, one beer tap say £10.00, a single regulator £25 + gas bottle. To fill remove the spear or fill through the coupler. the spears can be removed with a socket style tool with a minor conversion, the safety clip needs a 5 pence piece to remove it.

The shipping is for the whole order rather than each keg. :D

Never did hear back to my emails. Rang and spoke to Justin yesterday and he was very friendly and took my order, payment after delivery too.

My top tip - Just call these guys, don't bother emailing them!

Decided to pay for them to deliver so have to wait about a week now for mine to arrive, exciting!

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Euro and Din kegs? Also does everybody in the UK go for Sanke fittings?

Thanks

From what I understand they are fairly similar, but the Euro regs allow for the keg to be slightly higher and has a thicker wall than the German Din keg. They are both measured in litres rather than gallons. I went for sankey fittings as the couplers were easy to get on ebay at the time, but the choice is yours if you are getting new kegs. Get kegs to fit in with what couplers you can get. You will be the only one using them, so they don't need to be compatible with what pubs use.

Cheers Bob. It's all a bit confusing for a newbie when Wikipedia refers to D type couplers as Sanke whereas others refer to S type as Sankey, still as long as I stick to one type I'll be fine.

Just one little word of caution regarding which type of connector you go for....

I went for the Sankey type as the method of taking out the spear is fairly well (now) documented. Other types of couplers although hinted at in other threads, the process of spear removal isn't well documented / known.

However if you plan on just using the keg without the ability of spear removal as Bob mentions go with whatever couplers you can get hold off. I prefer being able to remove the spear fully for both cleaning and filling.

The "D" system is many used in the US, the "S" in the UK

Thanks barneey, I shall keep a look out for (S type) Sankey couplers.
