Sound advice! Even with it, though, I would probably never have got round to fixing the heater in place now that it's working.

Blimey! And that looks like a list of ASBO conditions in his hand. I also notice the filthy Gaarkraffe walking off it's lead the other way has just dumped on the path.

Just seen this topic. Great work Jim.
As boingy says. Its a good plan to make everything easy to clean as its likely that sooner or later you'll have a spill.
I got pigged off cleaning up after some lively yeasts so I made a removeable aluminium cover for FF shelf out of an old litho-printing plate. (I used to work in the print).
Its much easier to take out and clean this with a hose / starsan.
It can be seen in pic below.

Luckily this was in my garage!

This fermentation fridge lark seems very messy!
I've been testing it will a fermenter full of water, and the temperature of the liquid is impressively stable. What I need now is a test brew!

Hi folks, I looked at this post by mistake, I thought this was about extending a fridge, with kinspan or similar. I have an under counter fridge whiuch holds 1 corny or 1 fv, I need to extend to put 2 fv's or 3 cornies in. I'm sure theres a thread here somewhere about this, or if not any ideas appreciated.
no palate, no patience.
Drinking - of course

Maybe Kev could give you a few pointers

Looks like a smart build, Jim!
That extended keggerator of mine mentioned above worked but some time later the fridge conked out; it was rather old but I'm also not sure if I may have over-stressed it with all the extra volume - it was held at a more challenging 12c rather than 19c for the fermenting cupboard (which is still going strong) - although having it in the conservatory may have been a mistake too...
All the stuff about making it easy for cleaning and spills is very valid - I can't get at the inside of my fermenting cupboard to clean up overflows properly if theres a full FV in the way, and by the time I rack out the beer its all dried on. I also can't easily wheel my fridge out to get behind it, and yeasty stuff gets out the hole thats supposed to let condensation drip onto the motor and evaporate - instead making a gagging stench until I blocked the hole up with silicone; I decided that I preferred it dripping out the front where I can at least mop it up.
But those practicalities aside the consistency of a fermenting fridge has made a noticable difference to my beer.
Cheers
Kev
