My temp gauge and clock have finally arrived and have now been fitted, just need wiring, then need to find another 2 people to help with fixing it to the wall :!:

As this is will probadly be the last pic of the build, I thought as a certain few members had been having "chequered cloth withdrawal symptoms", I would include the cloth with the picture  :-s :-k

Clive I just received my sestos timer from China and am having a play. Not sure if yours is the same model but have you factored a start button into your build?

Edit: looking at your links your low tech timer can be controlled by a reset switch.

I have the B3S version that you also have which needs a start button to start the countdown

No cloths this time :)

In my build I incorporated the safe relay start function, so if anything is switched on, when you turn the power on key nothing will happen until everything is switched off, once the unit is powered up the safety start is then bypassed with a voltage from the main board.

As the start up timer was an after thought, following THM advice I`ve used the safety start mechanism to my advantage. Operation will be Top right key switch turned on to power the timer (both these arent in the safe relay setup), set the time I want to start the board up, click the switch on for the HLT element, switch on the main unit (panic button key) at his point nothing will happen with the main board due to the safe relay start function, now for the clever bit... once the timer relay has counted down this will then supply a voltage to the safe relay thereby powering up the board automatically effectively bypassing the safe relay start function.

EDIT the red button by the side of my other timer is also a reset switch.

I just need to finish a little wiring before the grand test to make sure it works the way I want it to.

Cheers

Are you incorporating your timer into your alarm?

The normal B3S one yes, the start up timer no.

I take it you are just using the output from the timer in your alarm circuit and that is its only function... Hence needing 2x timers?

At the moment the way its wired up, using both timers is..

The main push button switch controls the whole power circuit, everything except the start up timer (b1s) is on the safety start circuit.

In practice this means nothing will work without the main switch being on, if any of the element / pump switches etc are in on position nothing will start due to the safety feature, however once the mains switch is on I can power up the B1S independantly of everything else, the thing is a breeze to use just push the manual buttons before powering it up and once on it will automatically start counting down (there is a rest button on the main body so no additional push switrch required) tomorrow I just need to wire one of the output relays on the b1s to the safety start circuit so when the thing has counted down to zero it will power up the board.

I still have to play around with the other B3S timer (read the instructions) but yes its only function will be to sound the alarm for timing mashi /boiling times etc in theory I think it would also be possible to use the timer outputs to control solenoids etc should you wish to but at the moment KISS :^o

A quick night time shot

Does that panel say 'ORAL'? Does it supply that as well?
