The smell from my fermenter says you might need to rethink that :D :D (not brewed this before but it smells great). Though it has sprung a leak, only when its cold though ??. Think the top part of it may have stretched with the heat. Though I have tested it 2-3 times before so I’m not sure.

So whats with the electric brewery then, is that just rolling everything up neatly into a single control panel? (I made that sound much easier/simpler than the reality no doubt)

Yep thats basically it, no more than a cable tidy really ;), I`ll be posting a few more updates on my EB thread, like Highlander I`m waiting to get my LCD displays for the pump controller side of things, its been 3 weeks today since I orderd mine.

For anyone else's info, on the German 30 plate 125Kw chiller the large connections are 1" BSP. Need to get some stainless as I'm not happy putting them though the galvanised fittings I had for the water.
Just one thing mate if / when buying the fittings if your going for hosetails just becareful what size tail its sold with http://www.asap-supplies.com/search/hos ... inless-316 you may need additional / larger style hose for it. (if you need some PM me)

Cheers barneey,

I went with a 1" to 1/2" reducing socket, then the hose tail. The 1" thread on the plate cooller doesn't seem to be exactly BSP. Both the galvenised and the SS fitting were really loose. I've just packed it with PTFE tape and it seems to be fine now, just a bit odd.

Been thinking about it. going to see how I get on with it just now as a hopback. Think I have the leak sorted
I think someone else has used a similar one like that. From memory it was pantsmachine

Would like to find a way to get a stainless arm, but happy with beer line just now.

Got to find a way to filter the inlet to the sight glass. Thinking one of the metal sponge thingy's that peolpe have been using should do.

I can't rave enough about the Starlett TCT cutters. Its like cuttting though butter and the finish is ace.

Does anyone have a spare camloc dust cap they would sell me? I Need it for the top of the Mash tun to stop the heat escaping.

Yep, I have made one and pantsmachine followed, I just haven't got round to trying it out yet.

Apologies, think i've made that mistake in the past.
I've used it on one brew, but have never made it before so can't really compare. I'm going to brew one this weekend and try and compare.
Thinking about doing a split ferment using the hop back for the first batch. Cooling the rest to 80C and throwing in the steep hops as normal (whist removing the hopback hops). That way I'll have a decent way to compare and see it does any good.

All looking great. How was the memory tube hop filter in the boiler? Thinking about doing the same.

Awesome, thanks Highlander. Is that a whirlpool in the Kettle with a compression fitting?
Also did you use bulkhead connectors to connecting all the shiny fittings? They look really flush fitting.

They are welded stainless fittings with a food safe silicone gasket. I'm hoping to make them available to buy in the not to distant future, but I need to perfect my brazing skills.
