Re: STC1000 Hacking
So just download the latest version to the Arduino via the IDE and then instruct it to flash the STC, easy.
Dan!
Re: STC1000 Hacking
To add to the knowledge base the 12v one I got hold if is the correct version + can be flashed. The only internal difference is the tranny is replaced by two wires. So on the STC that I have with the non working "s" button I will just transfer the tranny over to make a 240v unit out of the 12v one.
Hi guys.
It's been a while since I checked in, but I can see there has been some activity here as well
I do like all the nice pictures and stuff you posted barneey! Good job on the pro mini!
Funny thing about the 12v version. I've done just the opposite on my dev board. Removed the tranny and replaced with wires, so I can run it off 12 volt (with the relays working properly, just powered from the arduino they have no power feed) and develop without fear of electrocution.
Keep it up! Cheers!

Re: STC1000 Hacking
playing around with pump control for RIMS using the hacked firmware as the basis, hadn't realised how rusty I was at C, I think I managed to nest everything sensibly
will share once I have had chance to test over the weekend

Re: STC1000 Hacking
I'm a bit confused about the 1.0/1.1 thing - I picked one up last week and I've opened it up and the board says "1.1", but the solder pads for flashing are there - I thought the 1.1/unflashable design removed / hid them that's why they can't be flashed?

Re: STC1000 Hacking
grumpydev.. the difference iirc is more basic with different h/w implimented between the 2 revisions, a simple comparison of your board pic against the one in the first post in the thread shows considerable difference in layout and compnents..
if of interest i wld be happy to swap the ver1.0 i failed to flash I think due to the lack of solder rings around the holes drilled and usually soldered shut. but what i know about electronics is Very limited. at the end of the day i will still have a functioning stock stc1000 and you may be able to rectify the error i encountered/created.... ps mine isnt bricked and is still a stock stc1000 system running on it.

Re: STC1000 Hacking
Thanks, but I'm not too fussed about not being able to flash it, it was just a "because I can" thing because I already have an ArduinoFil wrote:grumpydev.. the difference iirc is more basic with different h/w implimented between the 2 revisions, a simple comparison of your board pic against the one in the first post in the thread shows considerable difference in layout and compnents..

Re: STC1000 Hacking
I have not seen a v1.1 with the 5 pins still on show, normally they are not there.
Connect it up and see if it will communicate with a programmer, if it does, you still don't need to flash it if you don't want to.

Yeah, I think I'll give it a go - if I knacker it I'll just get another one - all in the name of sciencebarneey wrote:I have not seen a v1.1 with the 5 pins still on show, normally they are not there.

Re: STC1000 Hacking
I've got yet another one. (version that is)
It is showing WK-02-K on the front above the led www.xzerda.com
It has 6 pins to the lhs of the led, not on the mb.
It has pins for a 2nd probe & a 3rd relay.
Anybody come across one of these before?

Assuming I've understood correctly, there seem to be plenty on ebay with a black exclamation mark on a white triangle with a black border.

It isn't a really reliable why of telling (nothing really is) & sellers do tend to use stock photos

Re: STC1000 Hacking
Yep, worked fine.. I did it a bit blue peter by taping wires together but it flashed fine
So its not necessarily a 1.1 thing.. If you have the pads its worth a punt
