Mmm interesting for mine I wasnt going to bother with an internal filter, just open the butterfly and let things go straight into the filter, good to see I`ll have a back up plan just incase.

If your stuck for a triclover fitting the only ones I have spare at the moment are the 1" hose tail ones, but if you have a weld nipple the oter end on the plate it would work with the larger diameter hose I have.

BTW BH have a very good customer service so a replacement wouldnt be a problem as long as they dont want the old fitting back

I can probably solder it up. But I'll never get it back to that mirror finish.

Did you have a look though the thread about the BH filter on the US site?
It's got lots of stuff there about putting the pump before or after and pre filtering.

My feeling is a course filter before the pump to keep the big bits out. Then pump though the BH filter to pull out the small stuff.
