thingamy jigs

Is there any such thingamy jig out there that I can add to my boiler lead that reduces the amount of current to the elements,as I only do 12 litre batches the boils a bit agressive so I would like to try and reduce this.

DaaB - that IS the solid state device! 8)

I've got a simmerstat in a similar Wilko's plastic container but this chappie is the variable power controller.

Edit: Nice edit Daab!

Yup, it's easy but obviously you're dealing with mains electrickery so if you're not confident with basic wiring stuff then either leave alone or find a sparkie mate....

I bought the cable (20A), socket and sealable plastic container all from Wilkos for less that a fiver. There's a 20A plastic wiring strip hot glued inside the container with the various wires connected through that.

Looks more appetising than the stuff mrs B-S puts in my sandwich box...
