CO2 in Ireland

Post by niall » Thu Oct 12, 2006 4:36 pm

My long search for a cylinder is at an end. I found it extremely difficult to source one of these and eventually ended up going back to BOC who initially were charging the earth - until they found out what I wanted to use it for - then they wouldn't play ball at all. It seems the majority of pubs here now use mixed gas of some description for lagers as well as stout, they also use a different regulator which costs and arm and a leg. I was eventually told of a contact in BOC who was willing to do business on a standard CO2 bottle. It works out at 18 euro for a refill and 4 euro a month rental (about 12 and 2.70 Sterling) which I'm pretty happy with to be honest. I know there were one or two other posters (Alexander/Kevin?) looking for a CO2 source so I thought I 'd pass on the good news. I'll be happy to PM my contact if anyone wants the details.

Prepare yourselves for a barrage of Cornie/Gas questions :D
