Check Valve

Post by Scooby » Wed Nov 01, 2006 6:16 pm

It seems to me to be good practice to fit a check valve on the Co2 line, and from the posts I've seen alot of you use them. When I looked them up in the JG catalogue it warns, 'The valve is designed for use with liquids, it is not suitable for air and vacuum applications'. :(

Has anyone contacted JG technical dept regarding this, or had any practical experience of the valve actually working?

I use a check valve to prevent a back flow of liquid into the regulator which can occur when the short dip tube is immersed in the beer or the grey disconnect is accidently connected to the liquid post and the keg pressure is higher than the pressure set on the regulator (it can happen ).

Thanks DaaB's It makes sense now, It has no effect on air one way or the other, but checks Liquid in event of back flow :) Great.
