FV heater

Anyone use one to maintain temp of FV in garage or shed?

Do you insulate the vessel?

Are the thermostats accurate? 18c would be preferable.

Any advice would be most welcome.

I am looking to do something about this myself. I'm looking at putting together some kind of temperature controlled cabinet. Will probably use a freezer.

Unfortunately, this is all in the planning phase only so no experience to offer you.

I use a flate plate heater which I stand my FV on. I then have a blanket wrapped around it in winter but I have found the temperature changes quite a bit (sometimes too hot and sometimes too cold) so I put together my latest widget and it is sitting perfectly at 19C +/- 0.2C in a cold cellar 8)

Your widget looks fantastic EB 8) +/-0.2

I'm nowhere near as talented as you and fear that would be beyond me :(

I was thinking along Seveneer's line, a cabinet with a room thermostat and low wattage greenhouse heater, or perhaps an aquarium heater and simply lag the vessel, not sure how accurate the thermostats are on those.
