10 gallon Boiler Buckets no longer available

HELP

Im trying to get a 10 gallon boiler bucket but H&G say there supplier has reduced wall thickness 30% to unacceptable levels. and supply could be phased out.

Youngs say try the catering supply trade...

That's a great shame... those buckets make great boilers. :|

It would be very useful to locate a suitable polypropylene alternative.

A quick google found these suppliers;

http://www.victoriapackaging.co.uk/

http://www.cjk.co.uk/Brewing-Buckets-&-Container-1.php

http://www.waterbuttsnbottles.co.uk/BUC ... /c-11-113/

however, I couldnt see any that were 60 litres also couldnt find details on thickness of the wall. They are PP and should be stable to 150C ish. Might be worth a call to see if they sell in 1s and 2s and maybe they can find a 60l version.

I looked at those which Chris posted, nothing could be found (could well just be me!)
Although on Leyland, i see they do 60 Litre bins with dual element for £90. These as good as the ones H&G Supply? Might get one of these, then the mash tun from H&G.

Was hoping this topic would lead to some alternatives to the H&G 10 gallon bucket being brought up.

I want to start building my boiler next month!

Are there any smaller options? 6-7 gallons?

Drinking - Young's Harvest Bitter
Conditioning - Coopers Australian Lager

As Chris says, there are still some 60 litre PP buckets out there in homebrew shop land, but I guess stock of the old buckets will be running out.

I just got one myself from Farnborough Home Brew, excellent shop with great service. :wink:
