I'm mashing and boiling in my bruheat boiler, does it make any difference if i do it in a seperate container like that one?

That's a proper desk.

2 pcs, something that looks like a grandstream ip phone, some alarmingly neat handwritten notes, and a stock pot.

;)

Dont be fooled. My "alarmingly well hand written notes" are from my late manager who left us, the phone is probably circa 1500bc.

For 6.99 this has already proved invaluable for many other brewing uses. It washes easily, the handles dont get too hot even after boiling for ages.

I've used it for turbo cider, ginger ale, it will be perfect for heating cans for kits since almost the whole length of the can is able to be warmed.

Cant wait to use it to mini mash.

Yes perhaps the scale is a bit misleading. I only got this for Daabs minimashing :)

The trend is to mash in an insulated vessel rather than to use a heat source to maintain temperature. This ensures an even heat accross the mash tun and avoids scortched grains from the element.
Lots of brewers insulate their boiler and mash in it but the draw back is that you have to either transfer the grains out to a seperate lauter tun or you have to run off the mash tun boiler into another vessel before returning the wort to the boiler. The sparge water has to be prepared seperately also.
DaaB you are too modest
This is the way forward :D

I just have to drill the holes now
Ah yes the Joy of drilling nearly 500 holes
I am still finding bits of green plastic "swarf" in the garage
