Burco tap replacement

Post by Andy » Sun Feb 11, 2007 3:58 pm

My Burco boiler has it's original flip top tap fitted and the seal where it fits to the boiler is on the way out, it seeps a bit at the start of the boil. So, I want to replace the whole tap assembly taking the opportunity to fit a more suitable tap. Has anyone on here replaced their Burco tap ? Wondering what the hole size is and what fitting would be suitable. Tank connector with a stub of 15mm copper on the exterior leading to a ball valve ? I'd imagine it's a 3/4" fitting but I don't want to take it to bits, destroy the already dodgy sealing washer only to find it's some wierd fitting size...

Yes, but the Blinko tap housing is a metal arrangement which bolts into the boiler body. I reckon 3/4" is right so presumably a 15mm tank connector would do the job...

it's a 1/2" thread that takes a 1/2" female threaded Ball valve
I thought that was wierd when I bought a 15mm tank fitting.

My Lincat boiler has the same sort of tap as a Burco. Hole dia is 3/4"or 19mm.
