beer engine seals

Post by prolix » Wed Feb 14, 2007 7:40 pm

Just cleaned up my beer engine, only cost £1 as I collected but have run into a little problem. the sliding seal is worn and water (atm) can seep past it. Not a lot I hasten to add and I fear air is sneaking the other way aswell.

Can the seal be replaced or do I live with it. At £1 it will not upset me much if it drips on occassion

are you sure its not just a bit dried out? it may expand a bit as it stays wet you never know.

I had a similar problem on one of mine. I bought a bunch of o-rings of different sizes then replaced the faulty ones with the nearest size I had available.

No more leaks 8)
