Here's my afternoons work
In action
That should save 20 minutes on the brew time. The pump has a flow rate of 4.6ltr/min and cools from 90 degc to 20 degc in testing...perfic

Looks very nice (as usual)
Just so I understand, you have the pump on the output side of the CFC? So the pump doesn't have to handle (near) boiling liquid. Is the pump self-priming then?

Hi JA, Yes, the pump is on the output side of the cfc as it's only rated to 60 deg c.
It is self primimg, I'll find the link for it and edit it into this post.
I'm tempted to drill a small hole in the copper outlet tube to draw air in to oxgenate the wort turbulantly.
We'll see

so does the pump self prime? i.e. your using it on the same level as your boiler? good find there these are usually ~£100

Yep it self primes.
I might still use it beneath the boiler. Liquid fallin from the height of the kitchen work surface would splash everywhere, though I could attach some tube to sort this...haven't decided yet

Excellent Vossy, looking good!
I undertook an little experiment on Sunday with pumping water through the CFC (in place of wort). Took under 2 minutes to pump 6 litres through compared with over 4 minutes using gravity alone.
My pump is rated to 85 degC so I think I'll use it on the boiler side, it's not self priming so I need a head of liquid anyway.

My next project is having a look for some ally box section for a B3 type stand or similar

Very tricky Vossy. I'm still using an immersion cooler which, although it works ok, is now the wrong shape for my boiler and of course you have to fanny about lowering it in etc. I've recently got my hands on a couple of under counter coolers and so my mind is turning to making one of these into a super dooper wort cooler. How do you keep the pipework in your cooler clean?
