Been shopping...

Post by Jim » Sat Feb 17, 2007 6:43 pm

Went to machine mart and got a couple of hole saws to convert my stockpot, and while I was there got a Water Gem filter. :=P

I also got 2 new bottle brushes and a new hydrometer (not convinced the old one is accurate). My old bottle brush snapped in half - and I've only had the thing 20 years!

Been too busy with mundane stuff today to do anything with the new toys, but I'm planning to fit the water filter tomorrow. 8)

Heh! Yeah, I got instructions from the guy in the shop when I told him I was cutting SS. Apparently the trick is slow speed and lots of pressure, plus spray oil (WD40 does the job)on while cutting.

Edit: I must be tired - missed the pun. :=P

If you can get access to a bench press drill it will make the hole(PUN) experience more tolerable.

Those John Guest fittings are quite clever - never used them before. :=P

And I've discovered the chopstick method of hands-free operation!
