I am planning to upgrade my brewing setup over the course of the year. This will hopefully allow me to:
1, Remove the need to lift a plastic boiler when it is full of hot wort (this is an accident statistic wating to happen).
2, Increase the brew length to 10gallon (eventually).
3, Get the whole thing into the garage.
I am going to do this in stages and stage one is to get the boiling equipment sorted out. The first purchase will probably be a gas boiling stove as it is something I can get my wife to get me for my birthday next month.
The one I am interested in is the QLS Enamelled Boiling Ring from Jacksons Camping.

Does this look like a decent boiling ring and is it a good price? I noticed that H&G are selling something of the same specification for more than double the price.

In the states you can get these terrifying implements called turkey fryers.
Underwriters Laboratories have videos on their website of why they won't mark them. (it largely involves lots and lots of burning hot oil exploding and nearly killing the guys in full nomex fire retardant togs.)
Sadly, you can't get them here. For our American cousins, however, they're huge stainless steel boilers with a propane burner underneath.
Example here: http://www.turkey-fryers-online.com/mb3 ... _fryer.htm
They cost about 20-30 bucks. I nearly bought one while i was in Texas visiting the in-laws, but figured i'd never get it back to blighty.
It'd be a brilliant boiling vessel.

Mental. I can't imagine it tasting anything other than fantastic, to be honest, but having seen this: http://www.ul.com/turkeyfryers/fryer.mpg i was quite intrepidated by the whole idea.
