HB Take-Away

Has anyone got suggestions for transporting your homebrew, i want to be able to take around 6-8 pints (idealy 8!) with me when i go to a friends house for a curry or whatever. If i get a small pressurised container fit an S30 valve and a dispensing tap would that work? Then i could just decant clear beer into this from my keg gas it and take it with me without worry about sloshing it around and making it cloudy. What do you recon? Anyone tried anything like that?

1. Buy 5 litres of mineral water from supermarket in a plastic container - approx 90p.
2. Drink water - not all in one go
3. Decant bright beer into the now empty container
4. Take round mates house
5. Drink.

The container can be resued with a good washout.

I thought that it would go a little too flat like that - does it work okay then? Am i trying to use a sledge hammer to crack a nut?

If you shop around but they can be pricey sometimes. One of them weed sprayers that you pump would be good for parties. I have seen it done on the internet you sometimes get them very cheap in the Aldi store

Depends if you want gassy beer or not  I prefer "southern" style beer i.e very light carbonation and minimal/no head so this method is perfect.

If you have notice of a week or so you can transfer your beer from the barrel into pet bottles and add 1/8th teaspoon of sugar to each 500ml.
Put them in the kitchen or somewhere to gas up again.
Even completely bright beer will have sufficient yeast in suspension to deal with that amount of sugar.
There will of course be a sediment thrown but this is miniscule 8)

I think i'll give the water bottle idea a try first before laying out too much cash. Can you use the weed sprayer pressure containers or do they need to be food grade containers if i go that route? Probably be ok...i think?
