Good thermometer

Post by Rparkera » Sun Apr 03, 2011 1:35 pm

I've gone through a couple of cheap digital thermometers - one fell in the mash tun and wouldn't work after drying out another was just plain inaccurate (98deg for boiling point) etc. Time to up my game :pink:

I'd like one that was digital and battery powered - but with a lead / probe so that I can leave it in the HLT occasionally to track rising temperatures. Took a look at the Thermometer Superstore but couldn't see quite what I was after

Good temperature control is important - so it'd be great if someone could recommend such a digital thermometer / probe that they are using with success please

Thanks in advance guys

This looks pretty good, for use with the k thermocouples which are cheap to replace if you break them.

How good you want it to be depends on how much you want to spend, £200+ for a fluke

But the above is the type of thing you want to go for, multimeter looking thing.

Thanks LT - great idea, should have thought of that. They are out of stock on that model so I'll look around there and on eBay too

All the best
