You could phone the Blueball Brewery and ask. It's the same company (search their "legal page" for beer republic). Matt Riley left in December.

Beer Republic has been sold and is now trading under a different name I think its the Homebrew Supermarket. Its still attached to the brewery and they are trading as of last month when i called in.
I think a new website is under construction.

When I started brewing it was Thrifty Shopper, they had a good range of products all very well priced. Then that closed down to be replaced by Beer Republic and Homebrew Supermarket, only the latter never appeared to get set up. And now several months later Beer Republic closes down and the Homebrew Supermarket starts up with what looks like a very limited range.
Can't help but think they should have left it as it was.

They didn't have a choice. Business partners falling out and all that.

By the way, was it any of you lot who popped in on the 11th of Feb when I was brewing with Alex?

Hi Keith,

My name is Martin and I'm the new owner of Homebrew Supermarket in Runcorn. Unfortunately the Thrifty Shopper is no more. We have just started to build our new website www.homebrewsupermaket.com and any ideas/ suggestions of how to make a great site that you would enjoy using would be gratefully received. Unfortunately our buying power will not be the same as Thrifty Shopper a) because we don't have the money previously invested and b) we don't have the space as the Thrifty Shopper rented numerous units to store the goods, we only have 1 unit.

However, we run another website which is a great success, www.studentnoticeboard.com and we are known for our excellent customer service and our friendly customer focussed approach.

We hope that our new venture into Home brew will be a great success but we are aware that the internet is a fiercely competitive environment so wondered if you would like to post suggestions, ideas, tips and advice for us newbies that would help us get on our feet.

The best ideas we will try to incorporate into our website in some form or another.

We hope that we can count on your support and hope to serve you in the near future as customers.

Please keep checking back on the website as major changes are under way!!!

Kind regards

Martin Ramsden

Make the web page mobile friendly , I don't think anyone else has done that. Its a pain to navigate some of them, oh and have a quick selection list if most popular items.

Hi Martin, thanks for taking the time to explain the situation. Like you say you're entering a very competitive market but hopefully there's enough trade out there to keep you all going.
As for ideas how's about
Hops in a bag which isn't 5kg or 100g (1kg and 500g for a start).
Stocking decent quality kegerator taps (and possibly the other bits required to make one)
Cornie keg spares ( seals, outlets, some of those very useful looking universal poppets that you can change the seal on).

Good luck - Keith

£20 from the Worcester Hop shop. Saying that I will buy around if there is a good selection of hops, specialist malt and cheap yeast.

Price is pretty much everything. People will pay a very small premium for service but mostly price is where it is at.
Can you compete with Malt Miller or Worcester Hop Shop on price? If you can't get close to those prices, give up now!
