Bugger! I went to do a boil in advance of getting a new brew only to find a growing puddle of water on the worktop. Nice split in base, so unless anybody has any ideas I assume a new boiler is in order.
Now I'm minded to do it properly this time, so a new stainless pot seems the best plan. I do 25l batches, so I'm thinking of a 50l pot to allow plenty of freeboard. Does this seem sensible, and are there any suggestions for good suppliers
Hi Sheeprug, I got my s/s pots from a company called Bergland , they sell them as marmites on ebay france , I was unsure about p+p so sent an email to catering-service-fr@bergland24.de and they made me an offer I couldn't refuse .
That said I saw a pic on here of a pot that was going for £16 from an Asian food supplier. bet its not there now
The ones I know are in Ealing Road, Alperton, and this one, and yes they should still have the stainless pots. You could phone up and see if they would post one to you. Make sure you mention 50 litres or "size 24" "stainless water jar", which I think is the height in inches or something, as they have everything down to spice jar size.
