I love car boot sale bargains and am interested to know what brewing kit you guys have picked up for pennies for inspiration!
So far this year I have found these little gems, all of which were new and cost me about 50p each!
Two digital thermometers (ala these £20 ones at Hope n Grape)
A mains or battery powered set of scales. Up to 6kg and accurate, apprently £100+ when they were new! It is one ofthese.
Wireless Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse for the PC I will be using to monitor and one day control brewdays. Bit like one of these worth about £20-30.
Roll of insulation. Unopened. The siler bubble wrap kind you get in Wickes for £8 a roll! Used to insulate my HLT!
Three meters of heat resistant cable. Nice and heavy/rubbery with a kettle connection one end and a good socket the other! Ideal for hooking up my HLT!
Still hoping to see some big old stainless stockpot or tank for a fiver! Or some elements.
Dean.
