Cheers, yeah I'm back to saving again now. re the duty payable, I thought so too. It stays at that rate until production is greater than something daft like 10,000 HL then it goes up to 1.70ishdarkonnis wrote:Very very nice! I'm back to saving money at the moment to buy the next lot of gear then hopefully do it all at once. 1.38 euro per % per 100L is cheap as chips!

Looking good man! Apollo IPA? I have 100g of Apollo and am planning to make an American mild. What's your thoughts? Am I in for a treat?

Not sure about a mild, there's nothing mild about Apollo in any quantity under 0.00005g They're a mahoosive smack in the face!!!! Big bittering, big aroma, big flavour and I tell you something I've noticed.... Every beer I've brewed with them has had an almost Guinnesslike creamy head.floydmeddler wrote:Looking good man! I haven't got the recipe to hand unless it's on my blog (shi* memory) with the additions but I use 100g per 23 litre brew. From memory I think the malt bill is Maris Otter, Amber Malt, Crystal and some Flaked Wheat... I can clarify tomorrow when I go back through to my office. Fuggin lovely pint though it need four weeks minimum after bottling to balance out I've found.

I did a porter with some Apollo the other month, malty and quite a bit of flavour, I didn't dry hop though so the aroma aint up to much.

I haven't bothered to dry hop my Apollo IPA even though I originally planned to. There's been no need as they explode forth, I opened a bottle the other night and my mrs, sat 10 feet away commented on the nice smell.darkonnis wrote:I did a porter with some Apollo the other month, malty and quite a bit of flavour, I didn't dry hop though so the aroma aint up to much.
The batch I had was via pdtnc and still a bit wet and sticky, I've not used any from other sources yet, maybe they're not quite as up there!

What are the tax/excise regulations and paperwork like in France ? Do they have a rate which is geared towards small breweries like in the UK?stevetk189 wrote:No tax on homebrew and yes I am going commercial on a very small scale..........

There are some figures on the first page of this thread but it's very reasonable. The paperwork is a bit of a nightmare through, France thrives on paperwork. I think the richest folks in France own paper mills.JonA wrote:What are the tax/excise regulations and paperwork like in France ? Sorry - missed those numbers. Paperwork - yes as you say, they love it. Bit like the Spanish folks, oh and rubber stamps, another great business to be in.

Re: Brewhouse Build - Outbuilding Conversion
YAY! Shiny's arrived this morning. They weren't meant to be in stock until tomorrow!
Very surprised at the thickness of the steel, very hefty indeed. From a few posts on here I was expecting them to be a bit thin and pingy. Rock solid and the thermo pot is a thing of beauty.
11 months saving, well worth it.

Yes most likely, that's what I do now with my smaller rig. Might end up going for a recirc system and a herms unit as well. The two Kaixin pumps should be arriving any day.Deller12 wrote:Nice build are you plaining to fly sparge ??

Cheers, I'm bloody knackered lol Just started the concreting the first sloped bay of the floor to the floor drain. Concreting neatly is not my forte.crafty john wrote:That's brew porn at it's best, I like it very much Well done.stevetk189 wrote:And another shot of the new pots in place.
