I've no idea what you need but have you phoned the supplier? They are very helpful folk.

I am in discussion but the people I have spoke to so far are as clueless as me.

I was trying to explain there is no where to connect the gas and I was told to light it with a lighter, bless her.

I rang 'em about mine and they couldn't have been more helpful.

Anyhow, sounds like you need a hose barb. The description says:
1/4” BSP M taper inlet
I'm assuming the M means male. The picture doesn't show it but it'd be a "sticking out" thread about the diameter of a finger.

If that's the case then I reckon you needs one of these:

there is no jet mate to squirt the gas in. I need the gas flow adjusting knob and everything.

Thanks for your efforts!

Ah, understand. I thought the valve had just been mostly chopped off by bad photography.
I think you may end up spending the same amount again on a control valve and fittings. It might be cheaper to sell that on (or return it) and buy an all in one jobby.

Bloody hell, Cheers Boingy. I will see what solution they come up with before I send it back.

Looks like the item you purchased is a spare part fit a commercial cooker ie to replace a faulty/damaged burner like the rings on a domestic cooker You would need a gas valve fitted to burner unit and a suitable stand or frame to hold it and your pot above it.I'd send it back and find an alternative.

I am all right with making the frame etc, I have angle iron and round bar in the shed, and a welding set raring to go. I just need to know what bloody parts to get so that it works. Its starting to sound expensive though.

Definatly send it back.. The one Paul has came from Chorley bottle gas, it can be made more powerful with a variable reg to get more gas in (apparently(1-? somethings)?), can't remember the spec's for flow etc., but wasn't convinced, it's 8.5Kw.

EDIT - When I look says LPG, thought that was down to the jet, that you haven't got!

You could use this needle valve http://www.gasproducts.co.uk/acatalog/G ... __MxF.html

and a fulham nozzle

http://www.gasproducts.co.uk/acatalog/F ... Taper.html

Would provide the standard control you get on a typical cheap boiling ring.

Cheers Mooj

Does that needle valve have a jet with it?

I completely overlooked that , sorry. Maybe it doesn't need one? :? The small duoflam model has a similar output 50,000 btu and no jet, or rather, lots of jets. So if the burner holes provided enough restriction on their own? I would expect a jet like you also though. Also, does it have an aperture for introducing air ie. where you would normally expect to see an air sleeve?

If you do sort it out you will need a heavy duty low pressure reg, the light duty only go up to 9kWh, or, a high pressure reg as many choose. Excuse me if I'm pointing out the obvious!

Something like this would be adequate in my opinion.

Edit: no, that's not particularly useful that reg, won't fit directly to a bottle.
