Vintage glass airlocks

Post by Stevepsheehan » Mon May 27, 2013 11:55 am

Hi all. New to this site, so apologies in advance if I'm in the wrong place or something equally daft!
I wanted your thoughts on a couple of huge glass airlocks that I picked up at a car boot sale a couple of days ago. The lady I bought them from said they originally came from France, and were 'very old'. They certainly have an 'antique' look to them! I can't work out how to add photos here, so I've uploaded them to my Photobucket site, and put links below. The bigger of the two is about 15" high, and the 'cup' is about 8". Any comments/info would be most welcome :)

Steve

Wow, those are beautiful mate, sorry but I can't offer any help on age origin etc, but from what little I know about glass I'd guess that antique French is quite possibly correct.
Thanks for letting us see them
BTW your links seem to give viewers the chance to scroll through all your photo's, you might want to change that?
Cheers

Just don't attempt to use them. Many many accidents have happened with glass airlocks. Put them in you brewanalia cabinet, to be admired from afar.
