Mr Brush, excellent info - especially the tap fitting details for the coolbox. That will save me a dodgy prototype, thanks! :pink
I work within walking distance of a good homebrew shop ( http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/ ) so I'll have to pop in and get the extra kit.
I was also thinking of using a watering can rose as the sparge head - what's the conduit used for in your setup ? Just as a means of connecting the rose to the PVC tube from the boiler ?

Numpty question for you on the coolbox mashtun...
Why the two different bore sizes for the inner and outer walls ?
Were you fitting a tapered tap like:-
http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/item1092.htm
?
Presumably you'd want uniform bore sizes for a tap such as:-
http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/item1094.htm
?
Edit: Just had the thought that perhaps you've got the larger bore on the outer wall so that the tap shaft flange can pass through it and seat against the outside of the inner wall ?

Well, the kit arriveth! Now have an Argos supplied 32L coolbox, a few simmerstats
and am picking up a 27L stainless boiler tomorrow night. Better start thinking of my
first recipe I guess Something nice and simple but tasty - I like malty, full bodied
beers, any suggestions ?
(suppose this crosses over into the recipe area but I started with a kit update )
