Now I just need to figure out how to put everything together before it's time to rack my beer next weekend.

So that's what I need, thanks Jim.
Can you tell me what and from where?

Thanks Jim, I'll get on the blower tomorrow.
I've a brew on at the moment which will go the usual route, but maybe I should make something for next Christmas. You know, the sort of thing I've always promised myself and never done. Off to get out the Durden Park book.
Cheers.
Eric.

It's only a cask tap, breather and a bag each of shives, keystones, hard pegs and soft pegs.

Oh, and some beer line.

Make an offer, I have no idea what they are worth.

I cleared a bar out for the beer pulls and taps a year back and he gave me the extractor to go with a beer engine.
I'll have to weight it and see what postage costs will be.

Your just missing a cheap dead blow hammer, some evil thoughts and bully's star prize... iiinnn one. Shouldn't need the spiles if your racking is bob on.

Think you will find it far more accommodating than what the NHS has to offer.

Casked up my King Pin Bitter today in the new pin. I have to say it was a bit of a clart - those things just aren't the right shape to fit in a kitchen sink! Well worth it, though, for the satisfaction of seeing a full cask of real ale in my fermentation fridge. :=P

Here's some photos.

Shive on the left, keystone on the right.

First job is to drive the keystone home: -

Because there's more beer than the pin can hold, some has to be bottled, so first I transferred into a plastic keg, which is effectively my bottling bucket.

Nice yeast deposit: -

Barrel was just big enough!

After priming in the bottling bucket, I filled the cask: -

I filled to within about 1" of the top - hope that was right! Gelatine finings were added at this stage.

Bashed home the shive: -

...and after a good rolling about on the garage floor to mix in the finings, it was into the fermentation fridge for secondary fermenation/conditioning.
