Refractometer

Post by Andy » Mon Feb 13, 2006 7:44 pm

Right, after getting hacked off with using a hydrometer with wort at the sparge/boil stage I'm going to get a refractometer. I know DaaB will throw his hands in the air or suggest a homemade version using an old pair of binoculars but does anyone have any "don't do it" stories to stop me pressing the purchase button ? B)

Go for it...push the button....gadgets kick ass!!! (as well as making you feel very 'manly' when in use  )

Be intersting to see how you get on with one, I cen see thier benefits over a hydrometer. You can always flog it if you dont get on with it..

Errr, not wanting to appear dumber than I probably already appear, but what is a refractometer? :wall

Invaluable in the brick countage. There are tables available to convert from bricks to SG...which is nice.

So, I assume that bricks in your beer is okay, but what about aggregate? :stun
