As a back up... A.Bell in Northampton.

If you ring them they will say they don't do it which I found strange as someone else on here in Bedford IIRC said they did do it back in Dec '13.

I popped in and asked and they said yes... £18 for the gas and £40 deposit on the bottle... sharp intake of breath and got it for £20 deposit... that is if you need a bottle.

There is a place in Wellingborough that also do gas...name escapes me but they are listed in the Air Liquide site... £20 bottle + £20 gas... thats when I said I can get the deposit for £20 they said OK! they just need to show a deposit on the cylinder.

Found a place closer to home in luton called compton gas and garden centre. They charge £15 deposit and £18.99 for gas in a 10kg bottle. Gonna give them a try when i get a spare moment.

Be interested to hear how you get on.
I've used A.Bell in Northampton for years (no deposit), but Luton would be a lot nearer.

Thanks for the update. Reasonable price and good they don't charge rental.

Funny enough I got a refill for my CO2 at A.Bell (Northampton) on Tuesday as I ran out on Sunday.
Luckily I was visiting a customer in Northants that day so it was en route.

Price was £18.21 for a 6.35KG/10lb refill
I already had one of their cylinders so no deposit and luckily still no rental.

I got my gas today at Compton Gas & Garden Centre, Leagrave, Beds, LU4 9AY
18.99 for std pub CO2 bottle (10lb) plus £25 deposit on bottle. No rental charge. They use Air Liquide - Purple-top pub CO2 bottles

Earlier today I called A.Bell (Northampton) to check and they said they no longer serve home bar owners, just pubs and trade. Even if you have one of their bottles already. He said trade were being charged £100 deposit now too  :(
Luckily I called before I travelled all the way up there.

Thanks again to timbobist =D> =D>

+1 for Compton Gas. Prices as you said and 5 mins off M1. I had phoned around so many places who did not want to supply non trade or £55 deposit so Gary saved the day.
Next task is sourcing the reg for my cornie!
