Simply showing off. Large Capacity Stir Plate

Post by SiHoltye » Wed Mar 05, 2014 10:32 am

Hi.
Couldn't help but share my excitement this morning receiving two 5l conical flasks to sit on my homemade double stir plate.ImageImage
The project will be finished when the bar magnet arrives for the second fan.
This means I can (according to Mr Malty) grow up enough yeast from 6 WL vials to pitch into 200L of 1.041 wort.
Sounds expensive but through repitching and using starter wort from previous brews the cost tumbles, and I can produce runs of yeast strain beers from the WL/WY catalogue at will.
:-)

Whoohaa, i bet those Erlenmeyer flasks cost almost a days wages, Very nice flasks though. I used to work for Beachhams and I remember breaking 2 x5lt volumetric flasks. My boss was not happy. What a mess cos they were full with a penacillin solution at the time Lol.
