Stuck run off

I had a stuck run off on my last brew. It was my fault for stirring up the wort during the chilling process... my immersion chiller doesn't fit into the whole of the kettle.

I used a JUG to get the stuff out of the kettle and ran it through a sieve. It was a complete mess.

Has anyone run co2 back up via their kettle manifold to try to clear a stuck run off ?
