I don't know if you've spotted this thread with a handy description of how to make the thing you are looking for with pallets?

I've taken dozens apart for various DIY tasks, and tried all sorts. Best thing I did was buy a little Stanley tools 'Wunder bar' pry bar (less than a tenner from, where else, Wilko), a hammer and a proper pair of nail pincers. Twisty nails to me hold no fear!

Some of the timbers still split, mainly the ones attached to noggins with even more knarly nails, but in the main a neat and tidy job. I do try and let them dry out if possible but not all pallets need it, especially if they're none reusable types such as fireplaces etc.

Hope that helps
