QUOTE Split from another thread....DaaB

Did you get your replacement seals from the US? I am thinking of ordering some, and wondered if the online corny spares shop was any good.

BB, yes I did get cornie seals etc from the states, Brewers Discount was the outfit.

Ahem, was a bit of a saga though!

16th Feb - placed order with Brewers Discount.
23rd Feb - heard nothing apart from initial order confirmation Email so sent a chaser Email
24th Feb - receive response stating that order will be shipped on the 24th
1st Mar - send Email checking order shipped
3rd Mar - receive response stating order was shipped on 28th Feb
7th Mar - order arrives.

I've missed out a load of other Emails I sent when it was looking like the order would be shipped via banana boat and take 6-8 weeks. It was eventually shipped airmail and I was only charged cost for that, $15. So the whole lot ended up at $74 inc shipping which hit my credit card statement at £43. That was for:-

3 x Cornie seal kit
6 x new poppets
2 x plastic quick dispense taps
1 x metal tap on a disconnect
4 ft beer hose
Tube of keg lube
Tap brush
4 x hose clips

So, that's a bargain but it was hassle!

I did that stupid thing : I started browsing web shops after drinking a few pints! I ordered three reconditioned cornys and two pony taps from Brewers Discount. Total inc P+P is £92.20.

I reckon thats less than £27 per keg delivered. They should have all new parts, whereas the UK supplied "reconditioned" ones only have new parts where required.

All I have to do now, is wait!

WELL I CAN'T SAY I WASN'T WARNED

I made my order to Brewer Discount in March. Nothing has come. What I find strange and concerning is that they won't answer my emails(3).

If the order had been over £100, I could have claimed from the credit card company. As it is, it looks like I've lost £92 :bonk

I've not received some bike stuff from Germany before (tyres) so phoned up the credit card company and told them I'd not received goods I'd used their card for.

They credited my account with the dosh and then handled the rest from there.

The amount was way less than £100.

Thanks Andy. I think there is some protection if you're dealing with a seller in the EU. I'll phone my card company tomorrow.

Thanks DaaB. I'll ask you to try that, after I've spoken to the card company (although BD had no trouble recieving my mail when I wasn't complaining).

Happily http://www.brouwland.com/ has the cheapest Corny keg accessories I've seen anywhere - 9Euros for connects - thats just over £5 right?

After reading this thread recently, I sent an email to Brewers Discount asking about shipping to the UK and also saying that I was worried about ordering because of what I'd heard about lack of communication. I asked them (nicely) if they could confirm that I would have no problems with communication from them.

And guess what

Nothing heard from them :o

Almost two weeks and counting - not holding my breath

From their www site:-

Brewers Discount (Business Office)
361 Mystic Lane
Magnolia, DE 19962
E-Mail: sales@brewersdiscount.com
Telephone 916-213-6015
Warehouse in Diamond Springs, CA
warehouse pickup not available

Regret delay caused by moving business office, orders are running about a week behind.
Thank You

So the office move might explain the "current" slippage....

Mystic Lane, how appropriate!
