Connecting Immersion Chiller

Post by danwlx » Mon Oct 06, 2014 9:02 pm

Hi all,

I've been brewing for a few years now but have never used a wort chiller, I am still repeatedly putting the fv in a water bath to cool, it's labour and time intensive!

I've never bought one as I'm unsure how to fit them to my slightly ropey kitchen tap (single swivelling tap for both hot and cold). I'm sure plenty of people have come up with solutions to this and I'd appreciate it if someone could guide me on sorting out a set-up!

Thanks for all help!
Dan

Do you have an outside tap? I run a length of hose from there connected to my chiller and the 2nd length f house to the sink - a bit of a pain but it's all simple fittings.

Never tried finding the connection to a kitchen tap.

I've just been using one of these from the kitchen tap http://www.swelluk.com/img/shop/origina ... 2-2274.jpg.

Oddly this part doesn't give me any problems, its the hose connection to the chiller that's causing me leaks. Cant seem to get the jubilee clip secure enough.

Thanks for all the advice, think I've got a solution in mind. Does anyone have a recommendation for an off the chiller with decent connects already present on the coils themselves?

Cheers
Dan
