Several, and a few thermometers. They don't bounce.

when patio brewing i would loose a no roll glass thermometer frequently, so much so i was ordering 2 new ones with most grain orders.. finally i twigged and tied a bit of string to the end and a hook to the other end of the string and just hung the thing off the boiler edge.. then i went digital ;)

hyrdometers i generally kill by cleaning in too warm a solution and end up loosening the glue holding the paper tube scale on so it slips and reads bad.. so i generally start a brewday with the hydrometer in room temp water to check it..

3 glass thermometers, lost count of hydrometers. The refractometer has probably paid for itself.

My hydrometer is an antique - a big blob of mercury in the bottom, and it reads in Degrees Twaddle. Seriously, Twaddle :)

I think my luck is running on fumes...I haven't broke a single item yet and I'm 3 years in. I've got a backup hydrometer on standby for when that day comes though.

I brew in my garage. I didn't pack away 100% and came back late that night and drove into my brew kettle.

one hydro, one glass thermo, a pyrex jug and most spectacularly a demijohn full of yeast starter. In our brand new kitchen. That one didn't help my popularity, I'd better stay away from glass carboys!

None yet, I used my dad's Boot's hydro, til the glued float came loose. Admittedly,it had been in his loft since 1983,but it survived my ham fistedness from 2008 til last year. When I'm brewing,I purposely leave it in one of the draining ridges,of the sink draining board.
