3/8" x 1/2" Hose Adapter

Post by hambrook » Wed Jan 21, 2015 1:03 pm

Quick question; I have a Buffalo Boiler with a 1/2" hose barb and need to attach it to 3/8" hose that came with my Fly Sparge kit; what is the recommended way of achieving this? Quick disconnect fittings? Male-Male barb adapter?

If you warm the end up in very hot water it'll probably go on just fine won't it? Or is it too "stiff" for that (ooer!)

Failing that, if it fits inside the larger pipe I'd put a bit of that on the end and jubilee clip it tight - might be a bit Blue Peter, but it'll work :D

Heated the pipe in some near boiling water and it wont fit over the end of the barb; its the same size as the end of the barb.

The 3/8" tube does fit inside the 1/2" tube but as they are both soft silicone hoses attaching a jubilee club will just squash it surely?

Looks like this might do the trick?

Of course it would, sorry.. long day.. I just remember doing similar to get the hose onto my chiller, but obviously one of those is metal #-o
