Cheapest place for FVs?
Cheapest place for FVs?
Looking to expand but being on a budget means I've got to shop around.
Anyone know of any cheap places to get 5 gallon FVs from.
I can get them for £10 each local so hoping that I might be able to get some cheaper including delivery (bit of a long shot I know!)
Alternatively if anyone is selling any local to Colchester I'd happily take them off your hands.

Ten quid is best I've found without silly postage. I really want 33 litre jobs but there even more

Go to your local Indian restraunt/takeaway and ask them to keep you a couple of mango chutney barrels. I've had a couple from mine.
Nothing's forgotten, nothings EVER forgotten...

Or this sort of thing, possibly? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-New-25L-25 ... 1132771110
I think they do them as singles for about £8 too.

Re: Cheapest place for FVs?
I bought two 33L buckets in March from eBay for £12.99 delivered (one would be £8.49 delivered). Select "25/30 litre" - they're 33 to the brim indentical to the one I already had.
You can get food grade plastic storage boxes in Wilko's. Just check for the cutlery symbol on the base. e.g. "Crystal" storage box 24 litres for £4.50.

25 litre plastic jerry can ?
A brewery local to me gives used food-grade ones away for nowt (this is in Surrey) or I've seen some online for about a fiver (postage would beef that up though).

These are marketed as bird food storage but they are identical to fermenting buckets.

Matt - That is a bargain. Just shows how we get ripped off on a lot of our kit.
Re: Cheapest place for FVs?
Be fair. Printing that inaccurate volume scale on the side costs a fortune in ink.

Thanks guys, going to go with the Amazon lot, £5 is essentially half price
Re: Cheapest place for FVs?
I use single use kegs like dolium et al, for the odd fermentation, got there downsides, but free and they work fine for me.
