Any good or just stick to the tape?

PTFE spray is for lubricating rather than thread sealing.
You can get liquid PTFE which is paste-like and that works really well in place of tape but it's not cheap.

Ah I noticed there were some really cheap sprays and some bloody expensive ones on BES. Cheers for the heads up.

Toolstation sell something called liquid PTFE - apply as a liquid that sets on the thread - basically threadlock. Certainly works - but getting the thing you PTFE'd on OFF again is a bitch !
