Widget World kit for Corny keg

Post by shish » Tue Jul 04, 2006 9:04 pm

hi guys,

i recently got myself a corny keg from ebay that i intend to use for my homebrew, it came with a regulator for a regular CO2 bottle but i'm at the stage of giving up on trying to find a company that will allow me to take a CO2 bottle.

With this in mind i think the widget world kit would be sufficient for me anyway... my question is...

exactly what widget world bits do i need?

on the websites i've seen it for sale there seems to be a lot of bits and accessories available but nothing to say what is required for a particular application!

I recently found that one of the 10L pub type carbon dioxide bottles will furnish well over 1000 pints
(~£15 + VAT + rental)

Sodastream cylinders can be connected directly to WidgetWorld control handle. I'd avoid HD S30; they're rubbish.

thanks everyone for all the help...

i have a widget world CO2 kit now, i ordered the 'kit' which includes the stand, co2, control handle and some piping. It doesn't include the pressure guage so if anyone is thinking about ordering up a complete kit you wont get the guage!

With regard to the sodastream cartridge, initially looking at the valve end it does appear to be different but the SS bottle will screw on perfectly to the WW control handle. Handy for me as i dont have to fork out for a spare one bottle.

My new post valves turned up today from morebeer so i should have a working keg now! which is a good thing because i have some Brewferm Gold in a leaky Hambleton Bard keg i need to transfer <_<
