My courage directors currently very happy in there in the range 16.8 to 17.5c. Daab you may need to tinker with file sizes.

Thanks JA for the inspiration - fancy coming round and knocking up a kegarator for me :D

:o Oooh Look how big it is - but can easily be chucked up in rafters when not in use

Not yet Bigster - plenty of time before I start brewing again B)

I've got my eye on some spare 22mm copper pipe I noticed at work today

Which , of course, is now safely tucked up in your garage ;)

that's immense - is that a maplin thermostat?

Nice job bigster ;)

Thanks for the close up of the wiring ;)

My maplin thermostat wasn't wired like yours, I'll try your way today and let you know how I get on.

The central heating thermostat is not as accurate as the maplin and its range is a good 3 deg c apart, so hopefully I can get the Maplin thermo working.

Very neat B)
Particularly like the lack of copious quantities of gaffer tape holding things together (unlike mine!)
Make sure you put the 4pt milk containers in a plastic box in the ice chambers. I reckon they can take being frozen about 3-4 times before they split - at least that's my experience with Sainsbury's Organic.
Build you a kegerator? Yeah, no problem. I'll pop down to Bristol in my lunch hour today!

Cool Bigster :D
Very neat job !

Is yours a sealed unit so it re-circulates the same air?

frothy - It is indeed a maplins thermostat 4.99 - need a bit of patience to solder it

IRM - it does have a roof so it is as sealed as I can get it ( helps having the weatherproof strips and mouldings ) as well as the dowels to keep it in place.

Vossy - good luck ;)

JA - Its lunchtime - where are you

That is the Mutt's Nuts Bigster! B)

What did you use to get such neat cuts on the polystyrene?

You (and JA) have certainly inspired me.

Cheers! :D

Cheers BB

I was lucky and found a place close by that provided all the polystyrene and cut it to size for me for £15. I think they use a hot wire - there was a right burning smell when i turned up :o

The only bits I had to cut were the two ports you can see - just cut with a 12 inch hacksaw.

The ken schwartsz link is on another thread somewhere

Just one thing with these chillers how much ice do you use?
How often does it need replacing?

I have 4 * 2 litre platic milk bottles which would all fit in the chambers if I needed to but I put one in each chamber and the other 2 in the freezer. Currently replacing every 24 hrs but I think it would probably last 36-48hrs.

2 litre bleach bottles stronger but only have one at the moment
