Think you can get O ring type material in long lengths so if you know what diameter is needed you could make your own. Stick the ends with super glue. That could be the answer to one problem.

Good one W B, I will look out for that, I was thinking of silicone sealant or maybe another make of keg's O ring in a similar size.
Maybe I could try to fit in another make's float & tap if I can't source the original??
Anyone ever tried to bastardise equipment such as this???

I've ordered this:= http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/item360.htm
along with another keg tap, which the seller assures me is universal & should fit!
Here's hoping...fingers & most other things crossed!!
Only cost about 7 or 8 quid all in!! :P
Holding off any real hopes until tried & tested, but hey it's worth a try!

Well I managed to get another rotokeg from ebay for £6, which said it had the float etc included. I think that these type of kegs need gas injected to make them work, otherwise how does the top tap float work?? If so do you think I need a gas injector fitting for the cap?? There is a wee hole in the bung which may fit a needle valve type thing (such as the one's put into a football & handpump?)
Here is a piccy of the float & tap system, maybe someone has used this type before?? It's basically a tube stuck into a float & secured to the back of the tap!!

Here is the original rotokeg I got from the recycling yard. I bought a float & tap from the-home-brew-shop.co.uk & an o ring for a king keg (which is a perfect fit) all for about a tenner. The float is different & again I think it will need gas to work properly, but this keg has an attatchment on the cap which looks like it's for a gas canister. I think this system looks much better & I may get the same again + a cap fitting for the gas, to replace the other one.

If anyone has an idea on these type of kegs, I'd appreciate if you could let me know - especially regards to drawing from the tap. I can't imagine that you have to set off a syphon effect, or how you would do that anyway??

Cheers Guys.

cheers DaaB, am I to understand that the cap with the pink screw valve is actually an S30 valve, as it look similar to the one on your link.
I may just try to get a valve for the other one, as you say in the link that they can very easily be attatched to caps - rather than buy a new cap with one already attatched.
I will now try to locally source the cylinders, I have a fire extinguisher place nearby, perhaps they can refill one.
Thanks again mate. ;)

As ever DaaB thanks for your quick, logical & informative replies - I & I'm sure countless others appreciate your support on this forum, although that said, is not meant to diminish others input & ongoing support.
Much appreciated to everyone, i've been into homebrew for a very short time & by reading through * chatting with forum members I feel I am able to move onwards & upwards in the hobby much faster than i had hoped!
I just wanted to take the opportunity to voice this.
