Orange cornie o rings

Post by far9410 » Tue Apr 04, 2017 8:45 pm

Hi all, some time ago I got some of these from someone on here. They are much better quality than the black standard ones.
Anyone got some?

That may have been me? I got some from China, then the buggers, started sending the White ones which were slightly harder, even though they still were advertising the red/orange. so I gave up trying. I still have a few white ones.

Typical, the links are broken! You should be able to find them by the description in the URLs.

The colour doesn't necessarily mean a great deal, unfortunately. There are quite a number of shades of silicone o-ring around from brown to orange to white but they can come in different hardnesses regardless of the dye, potentially different qualities too. I think mine were shore 75 which were a bit softer than the standard ones but not revolutionary; I wonder if other people's have a lower value?

Bit of keg lube can help extend the life. Not sure about any lube though so check anything you might have in a drawer upstairs is food safe. :D

Usually the black o-rings are nitrile or "Buna" and the orange ones are silicone.
Although more expensive, the silicone o-rings are the better ones.
I am assuming you are referring to the o-rings on the posts?

+1

I also have the correct sizes for ball lock kegs and the pin lock kegs if you get stuck!
