Has anyone tried this pH tester,
https://www.rapidonline.com/Voltcraft-P ... er-51-5152.

I have no experience of pH meters and would value any reviews or comments on this model.

Is maintaining the probes much of a faf?

Thanks

Not really. Just keep them in the storage solution.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.

Just went to have a look at the current price of my Voltcraft ph-100atc and nearly fell off my chair.

£92! While I bought mine 4 years ago it was only £40. What on earth has happened in between to cause prices to balloon?

Exactly! That's why I'm looking at this one, think I'll give it a go. Never had a meter before but have always wondered if it could improve things. Also making cider for the first time this year and it seems pH is quite important.

Thanks for the replies.

Looks perfectly fine.

But I’d grab this in the same budget.

I think mine is a re branded version of that. But I paid around 30 I think.

I can recommend that one for for sure.

OK. I now have one of these, not used it yet but looks a nice piece of kit. Making cider at the weekend so will try it then. Thanks for the advice.
Any tips for a supplier of buffer and storage solution ?

Cheers

As long as you can calibrate to 4.01 and 6.86 rather than having to be 4 and 7 then these are very accurate when mixed up using deionised water: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PH-BUFFER-SO ... 3871536760

Storage solution is just a 3 mol potassium chloride solution. You can buy powdered potassium chloride from eBay too.
